We are pleased to announce that version 5.3.4 is released for both iOS and Android devices. This version has one long waited new feature and one nasty bug fix.
Move all checkers from one space to another space in base area
According to the Narde – Fevga rules a user can not block all 6 spaces in the base area. This is not a difficult rule for a player to follow, but it is difficult to code it. A long required feature was to allow a user to move all checkers from one space to another space in the base area without violating this rule. We can better explain this feature with an example. The checkers are positioned in a given pattern to demonstrate this new feature. In particular, we have two checkers at space 1, no checker at space 2, one checker at spaces 3 to 7.
In the next case, the user has rolled a 2 and 3, and it is a legal move to move a checker from space 1.
In the next case, the user has rolled a 2 and 1, and (s)he can move a checker from space 1 either to space 3 or to space 4. But, not to space 2, because this is an illegal move, (s)he will have blocked all spaces in the base area.
But, what happens if a user rolls 1 and 1? It is a valid move to move all checkers from space 1 to space 2. But, we need to move all checkers, not just one. As we see in the next screenshot, version 5.3.4 does support this feature.
Fix the bug that left a checker in a wrong position on the board
This is a nasty bug, and once it is done you can not undo it. You might not be able to move that checker. We got the next screenshot from Michael S.
Here, a checker is positioned slightly off from the top border of the board. We believe that we have fixed this bug, but, if you are running version 5.3.4 (both iOS and Android) or later, and you do have a similar problem, contact us and we will try to fix it.
